Social media serves as a way for people to communicate. It made the world a smaller place, and it also helps keep people informed about what’s happening in their local communities. Social media platforms are even used to save lives.
Brady Oliveira is a dog rescuer from Manitoba, Canada. One of his methods for rescuing dogs is to use social media to find unwanted or stray dogs posted or reported by the people in his community. So far, it has helped Brady and his group of volunteers to rescue more or less a thousand dogs in their community.
One particular dog rescue that Brady did was for a family of dogs. Brady learned about the dogs because of a social media post. The post was made by a property owner who posted that unwanted puppies were on his property and needed someone to get rid of them.
When Brady read the post, he didn’t waste any time heading over to the property to rescue the dogs. Initially, Brady found two puppies that were sheltering in a cardboard box. Once he got both puppies, the mama dog showed up and started following Brady and his fellow rescuer.
While walking toward their car to load the puppies and the mama dog, Brady heard more puppies crying in the distance. He knew that there were more puppies. Sure enough, Brady found more puppies hiding under a deck. The mama dog was also eager to lead Brady to her hiding puppies.
The puppies were scared, but Brady was able to get them all and take them to his car. Brady met with his network of fosters who took some of the puppies, including the mama dog, to give them a warm and comfortable place to live while they waited to get adopted.
Eventually, all the puppies and the mama dog got adopted by amazing families. They no longer have to live in a cardboard box or under a deck in freezing weather. Thanks to Brady and his animal rescue volunteers, the puppies and the mama dog found forever homes. Here’s a video featuring Brady rescuing a family of puppies.
