Countless puppies are abandoned or thrown away by their owners. Unfortunately, most of these animals end up dying of hunger or exposure. Thankfully, many animal rescue organizations are active in rescuing strays and abandoned dogs and giving them a chance to find their forever homes.
In Kuwait, an animal rescue group called Rescue.Adopt.Foster or R.A.F. has volunteers that work tirelessly to give stray dogs a chance to have the life that they deserve. When a concerned citizen informed them about finding puppies inside a dumpster, the volunteers responded immediately.
A woman named Danna gathered a few of her fellow animal rescuers from R.A.F. and drove to a city called Al Wafrah. Soon after they arrived and found the puppies, they were shocked and in disbelief when they saw them. They didn’t know who abandoned the puppies and why, but they knew that they would never survive if they didn’t come to help them.
Danna’s group was able to rescue seven puppies. They estimated that the puppies lived in the dumpster for two or three days before they were called to save them. The puppies were terrified and exhausted from their ordeal but finally went to a safe place. After Danna and her fellow volunteers got all the puppies back to their facility, they bathed them and sent them to a foster home.
The puppies were exhausted from their experience that all of them fell asleep when they arrived at their foster home. One of the puppies was named Esme and was the runt of the litter. Aside from being the smallest among the bunch, Esme was also very sick and weak that Danna and the foster thought she wouldn’t make it.
However, with plenty of love and care, Esme recovered within a couple of days. Once she felt better, she became the feistiest and most energetic of the litter. She was also very vocal about everything. Esme and her siblings were all adopted after living in their foster home for a few months.
Danna was involved in the adoption process. She wanted to ensure that each puppy went to the best forever home. She even checked on the new owners from time to time to make sure that the puppies were doing okay.
Esme was adopted by an American servicewoman who lived in Kuwait. Although she initially wanted to foster Esme, she bonded with her and fell in love. The servicewoman decided that Esme was already home and adopted her. Here’s a video featuring R.A.F. rescuing and changing the lives of the seven puppies found inside a dumpster.
